King Henry is the Exception
When Superman steps in front of a train to prevent it from crashing into a crowded building I imagine he gets a feeling similar to what NFL defenders experience when Derrick Henry starts running towards them. They both know what they have to do, but they both know it isn’t going to be easy, and they sure as hell know it isn’t going to feel good. Fortunately for Derrick Henry and the rest of the Tennessee Titans, Superman does not appear to play for the Houston Texans.
Sunday’s divisional matchup between Tennessee and Houston was a thrilling shootout that required overtime to determine a winner. The contest was a back and forth affair where DeShaun Watson led the Texans on a second half comback to give his team a 36–29 lead with under two minutes remaining. The Titans were short on time to stage a come back, and with just 1:46 remaining on the clock the Titans were forced to abandon Derrick Henry and their fearsome run game. Ryan Tannehill proved he was up for the task and quickly lead the Titans down the field and ultimately threw a game-tying touchdown to A.J. Brown with just 0:04 seconds remaining.
The way points were flying on the scoreboard, it was a good bet that the winner of the overtime cointoss would wind up winning the game. The Titans won the toss, chose to receive, and a disappointed DeShaun Watson stared up at the sky knowing that a prayer was his only chance to get the ball back from the surging Titans offense.
